Common questions

How does Iron Streak build my plan?

When you sign up, choose Quick start (about a minute: your goal, experience, training days, session length and equipment) or the full survey (about 3 minutes, which also sets your calorie and macro targets). Iron Streak builds a weekly plan from your answers, using only the equipment you have. After a quick start, Finish setting up on Home asks the rest whenever you're ready.

To change it later, open Your plan. It shows this week's workouts at the top. From there you can change your training days, retake the survey, shuffle your lifts, or build your own plan.

How do I log a workout?

Tap Start workout on Home. For each lift, enter the weight and reps of each working set (and reps in reserve, if you track it) and tap Log set, then Finish when the lift is done. Your heaviest set counts as your top set. Opening the next lift finishes the one you were on, and a lift left with sets logged is finished for you at the end of the day. Band and bodyweight moves only need reps. Prefer to enter just your top set? Turn off Profile → Log every set.

Each lift shows your top-set target: the weight and reps to aim for on your heaviest set, worked out from last time. Logging your reps in reserve fine-tunes it: with reps to spare the weight goes up sooner, and with nothing left it holds.

Done early? End workout at the bottom of My Lift marks the lifts you didn't get to as skipped.

How does my workout streak work?

Your workout streak counts the scheduled workouts you finish in a row, so the number is workouts, not calendar days. A workout counts once every lift in it is logged or skipped, with at least half of them logged. A workout with fewer than half logged keeps your streak going but doesn't add to it. Lifts you didn't get to count as skipped once the day is over, so a workout you mostly finished still counts. Rest days are skipped: they never break your streak or add to it. A workout you add to a rest day (like the weekly challenge) is a bonus: finish it and it adds one, skip it and nothing changes. A scheduled workout with nothing logged by the end of its day resets it.

Can't train on a scheduled day? Use Move it to a rest day on Home, or Options → Move to a rest day on that day's workout in My Lift, to move it to an upcoming rest day. The workout then counts on the day you moved it to, so your streak stays safe if you finish it there.

Away or sick for a while? Turn on Profile → Vacation mode and pick the dates. Your streak is paused: missed workouts in that time won't break it, and workouts on those days don't add to it. You can end a break early or remove one that hasn't started.

Can I use kilograms instead of pounds?

Yes. Go to Profile → Weight units. Every weight you've logged converts automatically, so switching back and forth never changes your numbers.

How does the AI Trainer work?

The AI Trainer answers questions about training, recovery and nutrition using your own plan, workouts and food logs. It can also suggest changes to any upcoming day, just that one session or every workout of that type (like every Push Day).

Nothing changes until you tap Save change on its suggestion. Each account gets 8 messages per day, and they reset at midnight in your time zone.

How do I log food?

In Nutrition, tap Add food under a meal to search foods, scan a barcode, snap a photo of your meal, or create a custom food. A search looks through your own foods, the built-in list, USDA FoodData Central, FatSecret and Open Food Facts at once, and shows the best matches in one list, each marked with where it came from. Your calorie and macro targets are set from your profile and goal, and you can set your own in Goals.

I'm not getting reminders.

Turn on workout and calorie reminders in Profile → Reminders in the iPhone app. If they still don't arrive, open the iPhone Settings app, go to Notifications → Iron Streak, and make sure notifications are allowed.

The barcode scanner or photo log won't open.

Both need access to your camera. Open the iPhone Settings app, find Iron Streak, and allow Camera access, then try again.

How do I use Iron Streak on another device?

Your plan, logs and settings are saved to your account. Sign in on the other device the same way you signed up (Apple, Google or email) and everything will be there. You can use both: what you log on one shows up on the other, and the app combines changes made on both rather than one replacing the other. Pull down on a screen to refresh it.

I forgot my password.

On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password? and enter your account's email. We'll email you a link that opens a page where you choose a new password; it then works in the app and on the website. If you signed up with Apple or Google, there's no password: sign in with that button instead.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Profile → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account and all of its data, including workouts, food logs, weight entries and settings. It can't be undone.
